The seven-storied temple building and shrine room, housing the largest statue of the Buddha in a meditative posture (Bhadrasana) in Sri Lanka, built under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent of the Weluwanaramaya International Buddhist Center, Ragama, Ven. Waduruppe Nagitha Thera was ceremonially declared open by the Mahanayaka of the Ramanna Chapter, Ven. Makulewe Wimala Thera.
